Khamenei’s threats against Israel must have consequences

STOP THE BOMB demands to break off relations with the Iranian regime on the occasion of “Quds Day”

Press release, May 22, 2020

In the run-up of todays “Quds Day”, Ali Khamenei again called for Israel’s destruction. On Twitter the “Supreme Leader” of the Iranian regime referred to the Jewish state as a “cancerous tumor” and called for arming the West Bank “just as Gaza”. The Academic Director of STOP THE BOMB, Stephan Grigat, comments: “The Iranian Regime fantasizes about a ‘final solution’ against the Jewish state on a current poster. This eliminatory antizionism must have consequences. The repeated threat of annihilation towards Israel and the demand for the arming of anti-Israeli terrorist groups in the West Bank should be enough to immediately cut off all diplomatic and economic relations with the antisemitic terrorist regime in Iran. If EU governments limit themselves to condemning such statements rhetorically, it will have no effect.”

The annihilation threats against Israel are an integral part of the Ayatollahs’ Islamic ideology. Teheran is supporting the organizations of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the West Bank and Gaza which are also listed as terrorist organizations by the EU. Already in 1979 Ayatollah Khomeini proclaimed the anti-Israeli “Quds Day”. Since then, every year the followers of the Iranian regime and Hezbollah (which is still not prohibited completely in Austria) have been demonstrating for the destruction of Israel worldwide.
