STOP THE BOMB demands disinvitation, announces protest against Rouhani’s visit

The campaign STOP THE BOMB calls on Austria’s authorities to disinvite the President of the Iranian regime. "Someone like Hassan Rouhani who calls Israel an 'old wound' must not be given a full honors welcome in Austria. Only days after Austrian politicians gave their speeches on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Austria is again cosying up to the Iranian regime. The Iranian contribution to last week’s anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz was 'Supreme Leader' Ali Khamenei again questioning the murder of 6 million Jews in the Holocaust. Amid the current persecution and arrest wave against artists and dissidents in Iran, Austria’s President Heinz Fischer wants to roll out the red carpet for the Iranian hangmen. More than 2000 people have been executed under Rouhani’s presidency. But Fischer apparently only thinks about possible business deals worth billions - billions that will enable the Iranian regime to continue its support for terrorist organizations like Hezbollah as well as its own armament", explains Stephan Grigat, STOP THE BOMB’s Research Director.
