Protest Against „Quds-March“ of Iranian Regime Supporters in Vienna

STOP THE BOMB supports counter rally „Together Against Anti-Semitism“ on July 11th

The coalition STOP THE BOMB supports the rally "No Quds-Day! Together Against Anti-Semitism!" on July 11th, 4pm, at Stock-im-Eisen-Platz in central Vienna. Like in many cities, Quds-Day in Vienna is organized by supporters of the Iranian regime and Hezbollah. The rally against Quds-Day is supported by the Jewish Community Vienna, Member of Parliament Marco Schreuder, City Council Member Peter Florianschuetz, the Initiative Against Anti-Semitism, the Green Students, the Homosexual Initiative and many others. Schreuder will speak at the rally, as will Holocaust survivor Rudi Gelbard and STOP THE BOMB’s Research Director Stephan Grigat.

Quds-Day was established by the Iranian regime in 1979 to mobilize for Israel’s annihilation and is today organized in major cities around the world. In Vienna, the organizers are linked to Imam-Ali-Mosque in the 6th district. Meanwhile, allegedly "moderate" Iranian President Rouhani took part in today’s Quds-March in Tehran, where the crowds chanted "Death to Israel". At last year's Quds-March, Rouhani called Israel an "old wound". Just a couple of days ago, Ex-President and now chairman of the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, declared a "moderate" by the West, said that Israel would soon be "wiped off the map". And the Iranian Revolutionay Guards reaffirmed that the destruction of Israel has the "highest priority".

Stephan Grigat explains: "Quds-Day shows the anti-Semitic character of the Iranian regime. It must not remain unchallenged when supporters of such an ideology march through Vienna. Also the P5+1 who are currently negotiating with the Iranian rulers about the nuclear program have to understand, that nothing has changed when it comes to the annihilation threats against Israel, to the inhumane practices of the regime and its expansionist moves in the region.“
